Frequently Asked Questions
Wedding DJ FAQ
-
We provide wedding DJ services across Peterborough, Lindsay, Kawartha Lakes, Cobourg, Port Hope, Belleville, Durham Region, and the surrounding areas.
-
Our wedding DJ packages typically start at $1,495. Pricing depends on hours of coverage, and any add-ons like ceremony sound, uplighting, or extras. The best way to get an accurate quote is to [check your date and request a quote], and we'll help you build the right package for your day.
-
Yes. We work with you ahead of time to build your ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception music, including any must-play songs and any songs or genres you'd rather we skip.
We also have our own amazing planning app so we can capture all the details of your dream wedding.
We’ll also help you build your timeline for the day and help you pick out all your special moment songs. You will also be able to let us know what songs you would like for the dance, and yes… you can even let us know what songs you don’t want for your dance.
Another great feature, and this helps make your guests excited about the wedding in advance, is that we can open up a guest portal so your guests can request songs too in advance. But don’t worry, your guests can’t see any of the other planning details, and best of all, you can see all the guest’s requests and who asked for them, and you can give a thumbs up or down on them before your wedding.
-
We're happy to take requests from guests during open dancing, and we'll always check with you first on anything that doesn't fit the vibe you've asked for. We will also respect your “Do Not Play” list.
-
We have multiple DJs on our team, so we can accommodate more than one wedding on the same date while still giving every couple an experienced, professional DJ. When assigning a DJ, we take a look at the music you requested on our planning app. This lets us match up with the perfect DJ to meet your musical tastes.
-
One of the great things about Weddings.Love is that we have multiple DJs on our team. What sets us apart from other companies is that we always have an entertainer on standby in case of emergencies. This gives you peace of mind that if anything happened to your DJ, we’ve got you covered. This is another huge advantage with our planning app. If we did need a last minute replacement, they would know and have all your wedding planning details including timelines, special songs, and requests.
-
Yes, we bring backup sound equipment to every wedding so a technical issue never interrupts your reception.
-
Yes. Whether your ceremony is indoors, outdoors, or in a location without power access, we come prepared — including battery-powered sound systems and a wireless microphone, so every word is heard clearly.
-
Yes, based on availability, you can add a professional Master of Ceremonies as an upgrade to your DJ Package.
What separates us is that when you hire us to MC your wedding, we send TWO professionals to your wedding.
Here’s Why. The truth is, the skillset of a Master of Ceremonies and a DJ are two completely different things. They have absolutely nothing to do with each other. Just because a DJ has a microphone does not mean they should be using it. (We’ve all been to weddings like that sadly)
There is a HUGE difference between a professional MC and host vs someone making “basic” announcements at your wedding. No wedding should have that and that is why we do not have our DJs do that at weddings.
Our Professional Master of Ceremonies host Gerald has over 30 years of experience, including 10 years as a radio announcer, and has hosted hundreds of events. Gerald only performs a select number of weddings per year. If we find you’re a great fit, yours may be one of them.
-
We recommend booking as soon as your date and venue are confirmed, especially for weekend dates during peak wedding season, which can book up 18 months in advance.
-
When you book Weddings.Love for your wedding, you have us for the whole day!
We don't charge hourly so we will be ready to go when your ceremony starts, continue through cocktails, dinner, and the dance. While most weddings on weekends go till midnight, we will stay until a maximum of 1am.
-
For any bookings we require a 30% retainer when the wedding is booked. The balance is due 90 days before your wedding date. If you book your wedding within 90 days of your wedding date, the entire amount is due when booking. We accept payments by Credit Card or E-Transfer.
-
Yes, uplighting and dance floor lighting are available as add-ons to any wedding DJ package.
Wedding Photo Booths FAQ
-
We offer over 30 different wedding photo booth experiences, from classic enclosed booths and open-air setups to digital drop-off booths, roaming social booths, sketch and caricature experiences, and AI-powered options like our Wedding Box Photos and High Angle Enclosure experiences.
-
Pricing depends on which booth experience you choose and how many hours of coverage you'd like. Check pricing for a specific experience or request a quote and we'll help you find the right fit for your wedding.
-
Yes! Our Digital Drop-Off Experience is exactly that: we drop the booth off, leave, then come back to pick it up after your wedding, so it can run unattended for part or all of your reception.
-
Most of our Photo Booth Experiences offer both digital and printing options so your guests can get the best of both worlds.
The only exception to this is our "Digital Drop-Off Booths." Because we drop off the booth, leave, then return to pick up the booth, there is no printing, props, or background options.
For ALL of our Photo Booth Experiences, we provide digital copies of all the photos and videos after the wedding.
-
Yes it can. We offer a scrapbook-style guest book add-on where we print an extra copy of each photo and have your guests place it in a photo album where they can write a short message beside the photo.
With that being said, we always recommend ALSO having a physical guest book register. This will give you a list of all your guests in an easier to read format. Also, not all guests will write messages in your photo album.
We give the same advice with our Audio Guest Books and Video Testimonial Booths.
-
We recommend a minimum of 10' x 10' of space, with access to a standard power outlet. Our team will work with your venue to find the best spot.
-
Yes. We can design custom print templates and backdrops to match your wedding colours, theme, or overall design.
-
Yes — most of our couples do exactly that. Bundling your DJ, MC, and photo booth with Weddings.Love means one planning process and one point of contact for your entertainment, instead of juggling multiple vendors.
-
Because weddings are different than most events, we have special "All Day Wedding" packages available where we set up the booth before your guests arrive, open the booth for the entire day up until 12 midnight.
We also have hourly options so you can select the start time of the booth and for how many hours you would like it to run. For these packages, you have the option to upgrade to "Early Setup Time" where we can set up the booth before your guests arrive, keep it closed until the requested start time, then open it for your guests to use. This means we are not setting up the booth during your reception dinner, special dances and speeches, as we typically set up 45 minutes before start time when "Early Setup Time" is not selected.

Yes. Gerald encourages couples to write their own vows and will guide you through the process, offer prompts if you're stuck, and help you craft something that's genuinely yours.
-
Every ceremony is personalized to fit the couple’s style and feel. Gerald will give you many examples for each part of the ceremony, which if you like, you may choose, or you can write your own version.
-
If you wish, as an add-on, Gerald is available to attend your rehearsal, walk your wedding party through the ceremony, and make sure the day itself feels smooth and unhurried.
While some couples may want this add-on, most find they do not need to have us at the rehearsal.
-
Yes. If your ceremony needs music or a sound system, Gerald can provide ceremony music, a wireless microphone, and battery-powered audio for outdoor or off-grid locations — all coordinated through one person. There is an additional fee for audio services.
-
Gerald only takes a limited number of officiant bookings each season, so it's worth reaching out as soon as your date is set.
-
To have Gerald officiate your wedding, the cost is $500. We do offer a $100 discount if you are also booking one of our Wedding DJ Packages.
-
Yes — many couples bundle their officiant with DJ and/or photo booth services through Weddings.Love for one planning process and one point of contact for their whole wedding day.
Audio Guestbooks FAQ
-
An audio guestbook is a vintage-style telephone set up at your wedding that invites guests to pick up the receiver and leave you a personal voice message — a wish, a memory, a piece of advice, or just their voice saying your name on your wedding day.
After the event, all the messages are delivered to you to keep and replay.
-
We offer 5 different styles in Classic Ivory, Classic Black, Baby Blue, Pink, and Vintage White telephone styles, so you can match the look to your wedding's colours and overall style.
-
We handle setup, delivery, and message compilation for you. You simply receive your finished audio file after the wedding.
-
All of our phones are battery powered and do not require hydro or internet access. All we need is a place to set it down like a card or gift table where guests can see it.
-
Although the times vary depending on how many weddings we have happening, you can expect to receive them sometime during the week after your wedding.
-
Yes. The Audio Guestbook is available as a standalone rental or bundled with any of our other wedding services, like DJ or Photo Booth packages.
However, if you do book the Audio Guestbook as an add-on to a DJ or Photo Booth package, there is a $200 discount. The length of the Audio Guestbook package will be the same as the DJ or Photo Booth Package booked.
-
Our Audio Guestbooks start at $395 when booked on their own.
If you bundle it with a DJ or Photo Booth package, you will save $200 so the starting price drops to $195. We can offer this discount as we already have a team member coming to your wedding to deliver and return it.
-
The best place is near the guest book table or cocktail station, so it naturally becomes a stop guests make throughout the evening. You do not want it placed in front of speakers or any loud location.
It is also VERY important that your MC make a bunch of announcements throughout the reception letting people know about the audio guestbook, where it is, and how to use it. If you don’t tell the guests about it and how to use it, they may just think it is decoration on the table.
